This Halloween…
You’ll welcome the chance to cross paths with these far-from-ferocious felines made of fluffy marshmallows, velvety chocolate, and not a single ounce of bad luck!
Scaredy Cat Marshmallow Pops
- Marshmallows
- Lollipop sticks
- 1/4c. white chocolate chips
- Candy corn
- Chocolate almond bark
- M&M Mini’s
- Rips Whips
- Styrofoam rectangle
- Narrow ribbon
Insert one lollipop stick into the center of each marshmallow and set aside.
To make cat ears, cut the tips off of candy corn, they should be about 1/2″ tall. In a small bowl, melt white chocolate chips and use to adhere two candy corn tips to the top of each marshmallow. Stand pops upright in Styrofoam rectangle until white chocolate has set up completely.
Melt almond bark according to package instructions. Dip marshmallow pops into warm candy coating. Allow excess to drip off before returning to foam base to dry. Transfer all remaining chocolate to a small, shallow bowl and cover with plastic wrap.
After candy coating on marshmallows has hardened, remove the plastic wrap from the leftover chocolate and reheat until liquid again. Dab a little bit on the backs of colorful candies and quickly attach them to faces to form eyes and nose.
For whiskers, separate the yellow licorice strands and snip into short pieces with kitchen shears. Use a clean pair of tweezers to dip the tips into melted chocolate, then apply to both sides of cat nose. You may need to hold them in place for several seconds until secure.
I used a tiny amount of melted chocolate to create pupils, but an edible writer/marker would work great if you have one on hand.
Tie ribbon around lollipop sticks before serving, or package in cellophane bags as take home favors for party guests!

Very cute! These could totally be made into owls too. Bigger eyes, no whiskers, yellow chocolate sunflower seed for a beak, etc.
Actually, I have owls floating around in my head for a future project that look eerily similar to what you’ve just described!
These are adorable! Very cute and a beautiful photo.
Super fun! I love the idea of candy corn tips for the ears! They turned out so cute.
I must confess that first I tried using chocolate chips for ears, but they melted when I dunked them into the warm candy coating… not pretty at all. Candy corn was the only other edible pointy thing I could think of that might stand up to the dipping process, and they did! I live and learn.
Adorable! I love the idea of owls as well. Can’t wait to try this recipe, now I’m craving marshmallows. Found you through Fun For Kids Fridays, by the way! (and I’d LOVE if you’d link up to my weekly party as well, but no pressure)
