Perfect for Valentine’s Day…
This hot cocoa recipe combines rich, dark chocolate and a kiss of cherry flavoring, in a sweet ‘n steamy, deliciously dreamy treat!
Black Forest Hot Cocoa Recipe
- 3 c. half ‘n half
- 2 c. milk
- 1 c. dark chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- Maraschino cherry-flavored syrup
- Whipped cream (optional)
- Maraschino cherries (optional)
Combine first five ingredients in a sauce pan. Whisking constantly, cook over medium heat until chocolate is melted and desired temperature is reached. Do not boil.
Pour 1-2 tablespoons (depending on your personal taste) of cherry-flavored syrup into each mug. Add hot cocoa and stir. Top with whipped cream and a cherry.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
*Yields four servings.
